In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, Lahaina was the center of Hawaii and the thriving whaling industry. Old fashioned mores were being tested by sailors and whalers from Eastern America. In spite of the New England self appointed missionaries, Lahaina became the port where comfort from the rolling sea and a great party, was the dream of every seaman that graced the shores of Maui.
Retrace these days of yesteryear that characterize the whaling era with our own rendition of a “Whaling Spree”.
As guests arrive, they are met by preaching missionaries denouncing the sins of those within and praying for their souls as they enter an early century Hawaiian inn. Just inside, guests are met by beautiful can-can girls competing with the missionaries for their attention.
As explorations of the inn continue, the sounds of a rowdy, honky-tonk band will fill the air as guests enjoy delicious Hors d’ Oeuvres and traditional seaman’s grog, served by sailors and wenches of the era. Our evening will continue with a wonderful served meal and dancing until the wee hours.
